You may not know that,before weight loss surgery, some people who are too fat, need to adjust diet and exercise under the guidance of doctor .As to the people who are not too fat, the doctor will be responsible to tell them that weight loss surgery does more harm than good.
In the United States, only a few specific weight loss center can operate weight loss surgery for people who are less than 18 years old . General,weight loss surgery is for adults.
The effection of weight loss surgery is significant, but not all are suitable. Although the final decision is up to a doctor whether you can operate weight loss surgery or not, there are a few basic questions you can ask yourself to make a decision.
• Your BMI index: greater than or equal to 40 (BMI = weight Kg / height m2)
• diseases : if you suffer from some disease, such as heart disease, diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea and so on, losing weight will give you a more healthy life.
• You have tried to lose weight for more than two years, and also did not succeed.
• Obesity has been plagued you for many years (at least three to five years)
• you are an adult, and can determine your own thing, and to comply with medical advice
• you desire to lose weight, and would like to get a healthy body
• you do not have tobacco or alcohol addiction
• you do not smoke, or have decided to quit smoking
• your age is under 65 years old
If you meet these requirements, then you may be suitable for weight loss surgery, of course, you also need to consult the doctor's recommendations.
